New Collaboration Brings In-Person Psychology Degree to South County

A significant educational partnership has been established between two prominent institutions, paving the way for a new academic opportunity in South County. On Friday, an agreement was signed to offer in-person degrees in industrial/organizational psychology specifically designed for transfer students from Southwestern College (SWC) in Chula Vista.

This collaboration between San Diego State University (SDSU) and SWC aims to enhance the educational landscape by providing students with direct access to a bachelor's degree program in a field that is increasingly relevant in today’s job market. The industrial/organizational psychology discipline focuses on the application of psychological principles to workplace settings, making it a valuable asset for those looking to improve organizational effectiveness and employee well-being.

The initiative is expected to benefit numerous students in the region, allowing them to pursue higher education without the need to travel far from home. This agreement marks a significant step forward in fostering educational opportunities and supporting the local community's workforce development.
