A vital mental health resource in Corvallis is now available to all local residents, not just students. The Oregon State University Psychology Training Clinic has announced it will begin accepting adult clients from the wider community for therapy, significantly expanding its reach.
Previously operating for five months exclusively for OSU students, the clinic will now offer free therapy to individuals aged 18 and older. It will also provide psychological assessments for those aged 14 and up. All services are currently offered at no cost while the clinic finalizes a future sliding-scale fee structure based on income.
The facility serves as the primary training ground for OSU’s doctoral clinical psychology program. Graduate student therapists, who are closely supervised by licensed faculty psychologists, deliver the care. This model ensures high-quality service for clients while providing essential hands-on experience for the next generation of mental health professionals.
This expansion addresses a critical need for accessible mental health support in the region. By removing financial barriers and opening its doors to the public, the clinic aims to provide crucial services to community members who might otherwise struggle to find affordable care. Officials emphasize the dual benefit of training skilled practitioners while directly serving the mental wellness of the local population.
